JPMorgan Chase & Co.
JPMorgan Chase
JPMorgan Chase ranks sixth on the Life & Services Brand Authority Index with 95/100 and appears on the brand table only. Managed net revenue for 2025 reached US$185.60 billion, an eighth consecutive annual record and several times the US$32.2 billion threshold the 2025 Fortune Global 500 sets for entry; net income was US$57.05 billion and return on tangible common equity held at 20 percent. The bank is the reporting entity, so the membership belongs to it alone, and no unit inside it borrows the position.
The consumer franchise is the part most people meet. More than 88 million retail and small-business customers use a network of over 4,800 branches across the United States, and the bank holds the largest share of American retail deposits. Cards, mortgages, auto loans and small-business credit sit in that segment, which contributed more than US$70 billion of revenue in 2025. Deposits are the raw material, and they fund the lending book at a cost no non-bank lender can match.
The corporate and investment bank produced US$78 billion of net revenue and US$28 billion of profit, covering advisory work, underwriting, sales and trading and prime brokerage. Asset and wealth management holds US$3.9 trillion of client assets and generates more than US$20 billion in fee income. The group clears more than US$10 trillion of dollar and multi-currency payments a day for corporate clients, which places it inside the plumbing of international trade rather than beside it.
Technology spending runs above US$17 billion a year and is treated as production infrastructure rather than overhead. Kinexys, the blockchain settlement network formerly known as JPM Coin, moves billions of dollars daily in programmable cross-border payments; IndexGPT applies a financial language model to research and risk work; and trading floors in dozens of offshore centres run automated execution at institutional scale. Custody and clearing reach more than 100 countries.
Outside the United States the group operates through wholly owned subsidiaries, among them JPMorgan Securities (China), JPMorgan Asset Management (China) and a foreign legal-person bank in Shanghai, serving multinationals and Chinese institutions that need offshore underwriting, custody and commodity hedging. China revenue exceeds US$1.5 billion a year. The headquarters at 270 Park Avenue in Manhattan, completed in 2025, is the largest all-electric tower in New York and consolidates several thousand staff who had been spread across the city.
Credit is the exposure that matters. Provisions for credit losses rose to US$14.212 billion from US$10.678 billion a year earlier, reflecting pressure in card portfolios and on some commercial office assets, and high rates have been slow to work through borrowers. The Federal Reserve and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency test the balance sheet against severe scenarios each year, and consumer groups criticise card pricing and fee levels. None of that changes the sixth place, which rests on deposit share, clearing volume and a balance sheet the market treats as a reference point.
