Bonduelle SCA
Bonduelle
Bonduelle SCA is a French vegetable processor whose business is entirely vegetable-based, covering canned, frozen and fresh-cut products. The listed parent is a limited partnership by shares rather than a société anonyme, and its registered head office is 'La Woestyne', 59173 Renescure, in northern France; Villeneuve-d'Ascq, often given as the headquarters, holds administrative offices only. Bonduelle is not a Fortune Global 500 company: FY2025-2026 sales of €2,186.2 million are roughly one-thirteenth of the US$32.2 billion entry threshold used for the 2025 ranking.
The group traces its history to 1853, when the land entrepreneur Louis Bonduelle began trading in northern France. It now owns the Bonduelle brand together with Cassegrain, Globus and Arctic Gardens, and trades as Bonduelle Fresh Americas in North America. Control runs through the partnership structure: the general partner is Bonduelle SA, the operational holding company, and the limited-partnership form was designed to keep the founding family in charge of it.
In FY2025-2026, the year ended 30 June 2026, Bonduelle reported sales of €2,186.2 million, down 0.8% on a reported basis and up 0.4% like-for-like, current operating income of €79.6 million, down 5.0%, and net income of €16.2 million. That followed a net loss of €11.5 million in FY2024-2025. Canned vegetables produced €1,119.9 million, frozen vegetables €305.1 million and fresh processed €761.2 million, which fell 8.8%. Europe accounted for 62.8% of activity at €1,372.1 million, with €814.0 million outside Europe.
Bonduelle is a processor rather than a grower-shipper. It employed about 9,000 full-time-equivalent staff in FY2024-2025, roughly 10% of them seasonal, and ran 39 production sites in nine countries sited close to its fields. Those sites draw on 61,600 hectares cultivated by 1,958 partner farmers, against a narrower grower-supplied area of 57,509 hectares in its sustainability reporting. Products reach consumers in nearly 100 countries, but that is a distribution count: the production footprint is nine countries on three continents.
Three pressures define the recent record. North America fell 5.6% like-for-like and 12.4% on a reported basis in FY2025-2026 on weak United States consumer demand, inflation and several agricultural raw-material crises. Unregulated Chinese sweet-corn imports depressed European volumes and prices, and an exceptional 2026 heatwave hit harvest yields. The group also narrowed its fresh perimeter deliberately, selling its packaged-salad business in Germany and France to Groupe LSDH, effective in Germany on 31 March 2025 and in France on 17 July 2025. Canned vegetables, at 51% of revenue, were retained.
The recovery plan, Transform to Win, launched in October 2024, met its first-year revenue and profitability objectives, and reporting was reorganised from business lines into Europe and non-Europe zones. Europe grew 1.3% in FY2025-2026 and fourth-quarter fresh activity rose 4.4% on new branded launches in France and Italy. In January 2026 the whole group obtained B Corp certification, after Bonduelle Fresh Americas had been certified earlier. FY2025-2026 headcount was not disclosed.
